Ingredients
- Taro 300g
- Shallots 1/2 pc
- Spring Onion(diced) 1 pc
- Chinese Sausage(30g,diced) 1 pc
- Dried Shrimps(soak, diced) 1 tbsp
- Water Chestnut(diced) 1 tbsp
- Chinese Dried Mushrooms(soaked, diced) 1 pc
- Flour 1 tbsp
- Shaoxing Wine 1 tsp
- Oil 1 tbsp
- SEASONING
- Sugar 1/4 tsp
- Egg White 1/2 pc
- Five Spice Powder 1/4 tsp
- Sesame Oil 1/2 tsp
Method
Step 1
Rinse and slice taro. Steam until soft. Drain and mash the cooked taro into mash.
Step 2
Heat wok with 1 tbsp oil, saute chopped shallots, diced Chinese sausage, dried shrimps, diced Chinese dried mushrooms and diced water chestnuts until fragrant. Sizzle wine, toss well and dish up.
Step 3
Mix the taro mash with all the remaining ingredients and the seasoning. Shape into small ball(2 tbsps) and flatten to make a cake. Pan fry the taro cakes until both sides golden. Serve.
